‘SHE’ TAXIS IN KERALA:

ü The Kerala government decided to provide more security to women.
ü As a part of this the government is planning to introduce ‘She Taxes’ exclusively for women.
ü This is going to be launched on November 19, 2013.






CBI CLOSES A CASE AGAINST MADHU KODA:
ü CBI – Central Bureau of Investigation
ü This case is related to the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand scam of Rs 500 crore with respect to rural electrification.
   The CBI announced that is closing the case as evidences are not available.

CJI CONSTITUTED A 3 JUDGE COMMITTEE TO PROBE INTO SEXUAL HARASSAMENT:
ü CJI – Chief Justice of India
ü The committee is headed by Justice R.M. Lodha.
ü The committee comprises of 2 other Justices H. L. Dattu and Ms. Ranjana Desai.
ü The committee probes into the allegations of a woman law intern that she was sexually harassed by a retired judge of Supreme Court in 2012.

TAMIL NADU ASSEMBLY SPECIAL SESSION:
ü It was a special session summoned on November 12, 2013.
ü The assembly adopted a resolution and reiterated that India should not take part in the CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting) in Colombo. 




      SC ON FILING FIR:
ü SC – Supreme Court
ü FIR – First Information Report
ü The court noted that every year over 60 lakh cases are suppressed.
ü The SC was quoting figures from the NCRB (National Crime Records Bureau)
ü The court said the registration of FIRs leads to less manipulations.
ü The SC ruled that the police must compulsorily register the FIR on receiving a complaint if the information discloses a cognizable offence and no preliminary enquiry is permissible in such situations.
ü The court was interpreted the section 154 of the CR. PC (Criminal Procedure Code) that it was mandatory for the police to register an FIR on receipt of a complaint.

LOKAYUKTA - CLEAN CHIT TO MAYAWATI:
ü The Lokayukta of UP submitted the report to the Government.
ü The government order for the probe by the Loayukta into a farmhouse allotment case when she was the Chief Minister of UP.
ü The Lokayukta said that the allegations of corruption against Mayawati were found to be baseless.


INTERNATIONAL:



AFTER INDIAN PM, IT IS MAURITIUS PM:
ü Mauritius PM Navin Chandra Ramgoolam decided to skip the CHOGM summit.
ü The PM announced in the Parliament that the decision was taken because of the absence of progress in Sri Lanka in respect of Human Rights.
