OCCUPY THE STREETS:
ü This is a 48 hours agitation is launched in Idukki Kerala.
ü This agitation is against the decision of the central government to implement the recommendations on the Western Ghats.
ü Earlier the a panel headed by Kasturi Rangan recommended for the prohibition of developmental activities in 37 percent of natural landscape that has high biological richness.






EXTRADITION TREATY:
ü India and Bangladesh signed extradition treaty.
ü Under this Bangladesh will hand over extremists and criminals wanted in India in keeping with the treaty.
ü But the ULFA (United Liberation Front of Assam) leader Anup Chetia could not extradited because his appeal is pending in Bangladesh Supreme Court.
ü Anup Chetia completed his jail term for overstaying in Bangladesh.
ü He moved the Supreme Court for his possible deportation to any place.






MINISTRY FOR MEN’S WELFARE:
ü HRIDAYA – is a non-funded and non-profit organization that is fighting for the rights of men who are being victimized to anti-male and anti-family laws.
ü It is based in Kolkata.
ü The campaign is SIF (Save Indian Family).
ü The regular criticism is that men are being victimized under section 498 A of Indian Penal Code.
ü SECTION 498 A: husband or relative of husband subjecting woman to cruelty.
ü Hridaya is also planning to organize awareness programmes on November 19 which is International Men’s Day.
