ü This is a supersonic cruise missile.

WORLD TOILET DAY:
ü November 19 is observed as World Toilet Day.
ü The government of India launched a programme called NBA (Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan).
ü The NBA seeks to improve the general quality of life to achieve a clean India in which there is no open defecation.

SUPREME COURT declines PIL:
ü PIL – Public Interest Litigation
ü The Apex court declined to entertain a PIL on bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh state.
ü The court said it is early to entertain the petition.
ü The court allowed to file fresh petitions once the bill for the formulation of the new state is introduced in the Parliament.
ü The petitioner argued that the bifurcation is against the concept of federalism which is a basic feature of the Constitution.





SEXUAL HARASSMENT:
ü The law intern who had alleged in a blog that she was sexually harassed by a Supreme Court judge appeared before 3 member committee.
ü The reports say that she is not interested in legally pursuing the matter further.

FORMER ARMY CHIEF APOLOGIZES TO SUPREME COURT:
ü Gen (retd) V.K Singh unconditionally apologized to the Supreme Court.
ü This is in view of making certain remarks on Supreme Court’s order on his age row.

SC NOTICE TO THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT:
ü SC – Supreme Court
ü The former president Smt. Pratibha Patil commuted the death sentence of four persons to life imprisonment.
ü These are the cases that are related to rape and murder of three minor girls and beheading one boy.
ü The court issued the notice to the central government on the same.

RESOLUTION AGAINST AADHAAR:
ü The West Bengal legislature decided to pass a resolution against Aadhaar card compulsory for getting subsidized cooking gas or LPG.
ü Earlier the apex court also said that the Aadhar should not be made a mandatory.




PETITION ON FOREIGN FUNDS OF POLITICAL PARTIES:
ü The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court said foreign funding of political parties is a matter of public interest.
ü It set the Public Interest Litigation hearing for November 20, 2013.

CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY IN NEPAL
ü In Nepal the first Constituent assembly was constituted in the year 2008.
ü It had a term of 2 years.
ü The time was extended for 4 times and even after that it failed in its task.
ü The country is voting for the second constituent assembly again on November 19, 2103.

ü PEMRA – Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority
ü The PEMRA has imposed a fine of Rs. 10 million on 10 entertainment channels in Pakistan.
ü This of airing excessive Indian content more than 10 percent of the airtime.
