SUPREME COURT
declines PIL:
ü PIL – Public Interest Litigation
ü The Apex court declined to entertain a PIL on
bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh state.
ü The court said it is early to entertain the
petition.
ü The court allowed to file fresh petitions
once the bill for the formulation of the new state is introduced in the
Parliament.
ü The petitioner argued that the bifurcation is
against the concept of federalism which is a basic feature of the Constitution.

ü The West Bengal legislature decided to pass a
resolution against Aadhaar card compulsory for getting subsidized cooking gas
or LPG.
