NATIONAL
FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION IS NOT ABSOLUTE:
ü The Election Commission pointed out that the fundamental right to freedom of speech and expression under Article 19 (1) (a) of the Indian Constitution is not absolute.
ü The commission said that it should not transcend the boundaries of decency and morality or disturb the public order or cause of defamation.  
ü This was pointed out by the commission after getting the reply from Narendra Modi in a notice that is issued to him by the commission.
ü The Election Commission asked Mr. Modi to be more careful in public discourse.



MARS ORBITER:
ü As on November 21, 2013 it was at a distance of 70,000 Km from the earth.
ü Now it is orbiting around the earth once in 91.5 hours.
ü The orbiter also sent the first picture of the Earth.



SC FOUND FAULT WITH THE UP GOVERNMENT
ü SC – Supreme Court
ü UP – Uttar Pradesh
ü The UP government issued a notification for providing compensation of Rs. 5 lakhs only to Muslims affected in the recent Muzaffarnagar riots.
ü The SC took a serious view of the notification and directed the UP government to issue a fresh notice to include all people hit by the violence.


HC ON AADHAAR – LPG LINK:
ü HC – High Court
ü The Andhra Pradesh High Court directed the central government authorities not to insist on the possession of Aadhaar card for the supply of LPG cylinder.



LOK ADALAT:
ü The CJI (Chief Justice of India) P. Sathasivam opens the Lok Adalats in the Supreme Court on November 23, 2013.
ü He also simultaneously makes functional Lok Adalats in High Courts and lower courts across the country.
ü Around 19 lakh cases have been identified.
ü The Lok Adalats brings a permanent end to disputes through mutually acceptable friendly and inexpensive reconciliation process.
ü NOTE: Once a case is disposed of through Lok Adalat there will be no further appeal against the settlement.


MP – 11 WOMEN FACE SERIOUS CHARGES:
ü MP – Madhya Pradesh
ü In the MP assembly elections out of 143 candidates facing serious criminal charges 11 are women.



IB CHIEF ON AP BIFURCATION:
ü IB – Intelligence Bureau
ü AP – Andhra Pradesh
ü The IB Director Syed Asif Ibrahim said that the bifurcation of AP and formation of a new state Telangana will throw a new challenge at the state and national level.



50 PERCENT REBATE IN A RESTAURANT:
ü In Israel a restaurant owner said that the smart phones have destroyed the modern dining experience.
ü To save culinary culture he started giving a rebate of 50 percent in his restaurant for turning of cell phone.
ü Should it be practiced every where?
