NEW CHAMPION OF CHESS:

ü Magnus Carlsen (Norway) dethroned the defending champion Vishwanathan Anand in world chess championship.
ü It was held in Chennai, India.

CLINICAL TRIALS:
ü The Supreme Court pulled up the Ministry of Health for the lack of transparency in the clinical trials.

ü The health ministry already made it mandatory to obtain his/her written consent.

ü On November 22, 2013 the ministry also made it mandatory audio-visual recording of the informed consent each subject in a clinical trial.

CONTEMPT OF COURT:
ü Authorities are punished for the contempt of court under the provisions of the contempt of court Act, 1971.
ü The Andhra Pradesh High Court directed Prabhakar Thomas special chief secretary to the Government of AP to be present before the court.
ü This is with reference to the charges contempt for not implementing the orders of the court.


MINISTER IN KARNATAKA RESIGNED:

NEW CHIEF OF LAW COMMISSION:
ü This is the 20th law commission.
ü In fact the chairman D.K Jain submitted resignation in the first week of October.
ü Justice Jain took over as the President National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.
ü The former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Justice Ajit Prakash Shah has taken over as the Chairman of the 20th Law Commission.


GST (GOODS AND SERVICES TAX):
ü The empowered committee of state Finance Ministers headed by Jammu and Kashmir Finance Minister A R Rather, rejected the proposal of the central government to enter GST in the Union List of seventh schedule of the Indian Constitution.
ü The 115th Constitution amendment bill is pending in the Parliament.
ü This is meant for amending the constitution to provide for the introduction of GST.
ü This amendment proposed a clause 246A, empowering both the states and the centre to levy the GST

ü This device continues to send the latest GPS location every minute to all the 5 numbers.
