ü NOTA – None of the Above Option
ü On October 27, 2013 the Supreme Court gave a
path breaking verdict.
ü The apex court said that the voters have a
right to reject all the candidates contesting in polls in a constituency by
pressing NOTA button.
ü The Supreme Court on November 25, 2013
refused to direct the election commission to hold fresh polls in case the
majority of the electorate exercises NOTA.
ü The court said it is for the parliament to
decide and amend the law and also said it is too early to pass such direction.
AARUSHI CASE:

Investigation) Court on November 26, 2013 sentenced the Rajesh Talwar and Nupur
Talwar to life imprisonment.
