ü What is paid news? : Publishing any news or
analysis in the publication for a price in cash or kind as consideration.
ü The, I & B (Information and
Broadcasting) ministry drafted a bill on paid news called Press and Registration of Books and Publications Bill, 2013.
ü According to the draft the publications may
lose registration of they carry paid news.
ü The definition of news papers would be
extended to include its web editions also.

ISSUED SHOW CAUSE NOTICE TO DRL:

APPCB – Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board
ü
DRL – Dr. Reddy’s Laboratory
ü
The contention is that the DRL which is a pharma major
dumping untreated effluents into one of the water flowing bodies that lead to
Hussainsagar lake in Hyderabad.
ü
The PCB during its night inspection observed that the
effluents generated from DRL were being discharged along with the rain water into
open drains instead of being taken to the effluent treatment plant.
Note: If prestigious companies like DRL are violating norms what about
other companies?

Its range is 700 Km.

In fact it was already inducted in Army and the latest
test is a part of regular training exercise by the defence forces.

It was test fired launch pad of the ITR (Integrated Test
range) by SFC (Strategic Forces Command) from wheeler islands (Odisha) on November
8, 2013.

The test was a success and the missile was picked up at
random from the production lot.
