The CBI chief Ranjit Sinha on November 12,
2013 referred to a plea that bans on betting cannot be enforced. He said ‘if
you cannot enforce it, it is like you cannot prevent rape, enjoy it’. It is
better to legalize it and earn some revenue rather than throwing up your
hands.
ü In the light of highly objectionable
remarks should he be removed immediately?
ü Shoud the apex court draw up guidelines for
action against public figures who make derogatory remarks against women?
