The much awaited Lok Pal bill has been cleared
by the Rajya Sabha.

This is a one step closer for the enactment.

House.

The bill will discussed in the Lok Sabha on
December 18, 2013 and expected to be passed on the same day.

Note: The Lok Pal bill was passed by the Lok
Sabha on December 27, 2011. Later it was introduced in the rajya Sabha and it
was forwarded to a select committee.

On December 17, 2013 it was accepted by the
Rajya Sabha with certain amendments. Hence it goes back to the Lok Sabha. After
it is passed by the Lok Sabha then the President assents the bill.
COMMUNAL
VIOLENCE BILL:

The Union cabinet cleared the Prevention of
Communal Violence Bill.
ü
Though several states raised objections the
cabinet went ahead.
ü
This bill will be introduced in the winter
session of the parliament.

Mukerjee in the SC requesting for the release of his girl friend.

The girl Supriya Rathore is the daughter of
Rajasthan High Court Judge Justice R.S. Rathore.

The Judge opposed the marriage of his daughter
and with a boy who does not belong to their caste.
ü
The girl was produced in the Supreme Court and
expressed her intention to marry Mukharjee.
