ü VVPAT
– Voter Verifiable Printer Audit Trail
ü Mizoram
became the first state in the country to use VVPAT in the assembly elections
that was conducted on November 25, 2013.
ü This
is a mechanism for a voter to check whether the vote has been correctly
recorded by the EVM (Electronic Voting Machine).
ü Note:
In fact the VVPAT was first used on September 4, 2013 for the by-election to
the Noksen Assembly constituency in Nagaland.
