President’s rule in Delhi

ü  The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung recommended for the imposition of the Presidents rule.

ü  Since no party is coming forward to form the government he recommended for keeping the assembly under suspended animation.

ü  The Union Cabinet may take a decision soon and recommends the President.



The Apex court on disqualification of the law makers:

ü  On December 16, 2013 the Supreme Court turned down a plea seeking its order on the disqualification of the convicted members of the Parliament and also the state legislatures made effective even in the case of those members who were held guilty of serious offences before the judgment.



AP REORGANIZATION BILL:

ü  On December 16, 2013 the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization bill has been introduced in the both the houses of state legislature amid of ruckus in both the houses.

ü  Some of the MLAs and MLCs who are opposing the bifurcation torn of the copies of the said bill.


NEW CHIEF FOR NABARD:


ü  NABARD – National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development.

ü  Harsh Kumar Bhanwala has been appointed as the chairman of NABARD.


SECTION 377:

ü  The section 377 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) that criminalizes the homosexuality is supported by the BJP.

ü  The party chief said that they back the decision of the Supreme Court.

ü  He also said that the party believes that homosexuality is an unnatural act.
