SUPER MOON:


ü  This is a phenomenon when the Moon makes its closest approach to the earth in its orbit than usual.

ü  The Moon appears 14% bigger and 30 % brighter.

ü  The old name of the super Moon was Perigee full Moon or Perigee New Moon.

ü  The year 2014 experiences 5 super moons.

ü  1st – January 1st

ü  2nd – January 31st

ü  3rd – July 12

ü  4th – August 10th

ü  5th  - September 9th

ü  Next two super Moons are visible in January 2018



Cricket:

ANDHRA PRADESH STATE REORGANIZATION BILL:


ü  The President of India gave an extension of 1 week to the proposed state reorganization bill of Andhra Pradesh.

ü  The Chief Minister of AP sought 3 more weeks for the same.


REPO RATE:

ü  The reserve Bank of India on January 28, 2014 increased the Repo Rate by 25 basic points.

ü  Now the Repo rate is 8% and the Reverse Repo is 7%.

ü  The Delhi High Court issued notices to the Chief Minister Arvinnd Kejriwal and the Law Minister Somnath Bharti for exceeding the poll expenses limit of 14 lakhs.
